![]() Why do you suppose the antenna came with a gasket and Cessna painted under the antenna? It still worked.Īlso do you think my idea of a faulty antenna would be the cause of no com audio but yes on the nav audio?Very well could be. You have mentioned the no gasket and metal to metal many times. Yikes, they want an arm and a leg for a new one $173.95 at A-S for a new Comant CI-121. It's been a while since I bought a new antenna. This one had the antenna's gasket between the base and a painted surface making electrical contact through the four screws. How do I test the antenna? Is there supposed to be a certain resistance between the center conductor and the shield? Right now it is an open circuit.Īlso as Web has stated, there needs to be electrical contact between the antenna base and the ground plane. The base partially separated from the antenna but did allow me to push it back together. The base stuck to the gasket which stuck to the cabin top. So I took the antenna off the cabin top to see if there was any oxidation between the base and the cabin top. Since there is no audio, I have no idea if anyone can hear a transmission. The nav side still talks through a separate antenna. ![]() ![]() The com audio on my nav-com stopped talking.
